Tom Fazio designed Shadow Creek for a billionaire’s private golf course?

Shadow Creek in Las Vegas was originally created for casino magnate Steve Wynn, who wanted something completely different from the typical desert golf course. He envisioned a private, secluded course that would feel like a hidden oasis rather than a landscape dominated by sand and desert.

Tom Fazio transformed the barren Nevada terrain into an extraordinary landscape of mature trees, streams, waterfalls, lakes and dramatic elevation changes. Thousands of trees were planted, creating an environment that seems almost impossible to find in the middle of the Las Vegas desert.

The project was so ambitious that Shadow Creek became famous not only for its golf but for the enormous scale of its construction and landscaping. What began as a private playground eventually became one of the most exclusive and talked-about golf courses in America.
